Brant was asked if we had a product that could withstand temperatures of 325 degrees, had high release qualities and was also abrasion resistant. Brant recommended our BRNSN, a high release material which works great under high temperature. Brant asked for the roll that was giving them the worst problem. We were given a badly corroded felt roll in a full wrap position. This stainless steel roll was blasted, cleaned and covered with our white "BRNSN" rubber (a proprietary compound), cured and returned to service. This compound has been specifically formulated for its high release attributes; even traditional "duct tape" won't stick to this material. The roll was then put in the dryer section in a full wrap position. After one week in operation the roll was checked and no build-up was occurring on the roll. Brant then was asked to recover the rest of the rolls over a 6 month time period. It has been 3 years since the first roll was installed. The customer has noticed many things since the first roll was installed; no cleaning of dryer rolls as all pulp passes through the dryer section without sticking to any of the rolls, felt life has increased by 30% and cores don't corrode ... problem solved.
