Blastech processed 8000 tons of steel required to build this facility in the Brantford Plant 1 over a period of 6 months. The coating specification called for abrasive blast clean to SSPC SP 10 Near White Metal followed by 3 mils of organic zinc rich epoxy.

We have been awarded a number of contracts related to the jet fuel storage tanks and the fuel delivery system involving several kilometers of steel pipe for Pearson International Airport and Dorval International Airport . All the pipe was coated in our Brantford facility .To meet the owners stringent specifications to ensure required life cycle durability, all surfaces were prepared with a mineral abrasive before applying a 100% solids high build epoxy pipe coating to the exterior surfaces. Depending on specification pipe interiors were coated with a approved jet fuel resistant epoxy or special preservative. Prior to erection the jet fuel holding tanks were abrasive blasted and the exteriors primed with a zinc rich epoxy primer .Interior surfaces were treated with the Blastech REDI-PLATEtm process. Blastech Transportation was responsible for the safe transportation of the pipe and rolled tank sections to the several job sites during the course of the contracts |
