Over a period of four weeks in 1997, approximately 32,800 feet of 30" diameter pipe was coated with 100% solids epoxy on the interior and coal tar epoxy on the exterior. Both the interior and exterior of the pipes were prepared by abrasive cleaning in accordance with SSPC-SP10, followed by application of the coatings to specification thickness using our specialized equipment. The pipe was manufactured and supplied by Canadian Phoenix Steel Products.

The coated pipes were thoroughly inspected for proper dry film thickness and holidays (pinholes) and any deficiencies corrected prior to shipping.

Blastech was also responsible for the transportation of the finished pipes to the Montreal docks for export to Venezuela where they will be buried below ground and used for transportation of potable (drinking) water.
